Refugees Arriving to the United States

The Free Burma Society actively supports and sponsors initiatives whenever opportunities arise. During the past summer, the organization played a pivotal role in facilitating the resettlement of eight refugees from Karenni State in the United States. Among them, three individuals were welcomed into an elementary school in North Carolina, where they not only gained access to education but also discovered a newfound sense of belonging in their new home.

2024 Christmas Gathering in Ashburn, VA
This year, we had the wonderful opportunity to invite refugees who arrived in 2024 to celebrate their first Christmas in the United States. A total of 22 guests came together to share in the warmth of community, friendship, and the joy of the holiday season. It was a time filled with love, laughter, and gratitude as we embraced the blessings of freedom, safety, and new beginnings in this country. The gathering was not just a celebration but also a testament to the strength, resilience, and hope that unite us all.
