Kay T Khine’s remarkable journey unfolds as a tale of resilience and determination, shaped by her firsthand experiences with the challenging realities of military dictatorship in her native Burma. In the year 2000, she took a significant step, leaving her homeland behind to pursue higher education in the United States. Her academic endeavors culminated in the attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree from George Washington University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland University College.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to giving back, Kay dedicated her time to volunteer work at Catholic Charities, where she served as an immigration paralegal from 2007 to 2009. During this period, her contributions were instrumental in assisting individuals with immigration-related legal matters, underscoring her dedication to supporting those in need.
Kay then transitioned to a fulfilling career in federal employment, commencing her tenure at the U.S Department of Labor as a Budget Analyst. This shift not only showcased her versatility but also highlighted her expertise in different professional domains, illustrating a commendable commitment to public service.
Presently, Kay T Khine continues her impactful journey in the realm of public service. She serves as Deputy Budget Director in Community Planning and Development at the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she plays a crucial role in addressing the needs of disadvantaged communities. Her ongoing commitment to the well-being of others, both within and beyond her community, solidifies Kay T Khine’s legacy as a dedicated and compassionate public servant.
